    The main reason I stuck with Bear.app for many years was the nesting tags feature. But Drafts.app has had that for some time too, so what is the point of Bear for me? The web content saving features aren’t for me either because I’ve got DEVONthink, which these days plays nicely on my iPad too.

    Shared Notes: Tiny Theme – Use and Modifications

    The transition from Wordpress.com to Micro.blog was challenging because of the initial difficulty I had in finding and customizing a theme that worked for me. They either did not feel right to me, or I couldn’t find sufficient documentation. This problem was multiplied by insufficient knowledge about Hugo (the blogging software) and Go (the language Hugo uses).

    Shared Notes: Why Move from Wordpress.com to Micro.blog?

    My history with WordPress.com

    • Began with free version, ca. 2007; was an improvement over Blogger (by then owned by Google).
    • Ads become too obtrusive, so paid to remove them.
    • Began using site not only to blog, but also as a professional signboard.
    • Eventually upgraded to business plan to meet customization needs (add plugins).

    Shared Notes: Small Image Galleries

    I’ve had no luck with the plugins on offer at Micro.blog, so I have set up two- and three-column flex boxes that become single columns on small screens.

    Set up snippets for the HTML in Drafts and wherever else you find convenient. Write the post itself in Markdown, unless you have other CSS classes to apply.

    Shared Notes: Digital Gardens

    New post format: notes written only for myself, but perhaps of interest to others. Will file under a new shared notes category for now, while also using the blog's other relevant categories.

    I ran into the term “digital gardens” on the 🦣 profile of @[email protected], which I looked up because of a repost by @[email protected] of a piece on the latter’s search functionality. RDK’s whole website, Just Text, has a quirky feel that reminds me of some Micro.blog-hosted blogs. These have extra pages about stuff that matters to them, lists, photos, a Tweet archive, other collections of related content.
